NFL DFS GPP Plays For Week 7: Chris Godwin, J.J. McCarthy & More

Jason Cohen breaks down his favorite NFL DFS GPP plays for the Week 7 Sunday main slate.

Week 7 of the NFL season is here. There are 10 games for us to break down for this Sunday's NFL DFS main slate on DraftKings and FanDuel. I'm going to break down the NFL DFS GPP plays that I like on this slate. This could be a QB and receiver stack I like, a sneaky RB in a good spot, or a standalone WR/TE.

The goal here is to find players that are going to be under 10% owned. Getting different with these players allows you to get to safer and higher-owned pieces across the rest of your lineup. Let's dive into it!

DraftKings and FanDuel NFL DFS GPP Plays For Week 7

Chris Godwin - TB WR ($4,300 DraftKings, $5,300 FanDuel)

To start GPP plays, Chris Godwin is someone that I like as a pivot off of chalk Cade Otton. Godwin has been a letdown this season, with 3 or 4 catches in five of six games, and no touchdowns. But the usage has been there. He saw a season-high 8 targets in Week 6, catching 4 for 37 yards, and he played 92% of the snaps. With Jalen McMillan on injured reserve, he is the clear lead option in this offense. He offers a nice floor, and all he needs is one touchdown to smash, and I like getting to him at low ownership.

Joe Burrow - CIN QB ($6,900 DraftKings, $8,300 FanDuel)/Ja’Maar Chase - CIN WR ($8,100 DraftKings, $8,800 FanDuel)

Next up, I like the Bengals stack here. Cincinnati is coming off of their bye week, so Burrow and Chase should both be fully rested after playing through injuries in Week 5. In Week 5, he went 23/32 for 190 yards and a season-high 4 touchdowns against the Dolphins. Chase has been the touchdown guy for this offense, with 4 touchdowns to go with 27 catches on 38 targets for 289 yards through five games. Lamar Jackson also returned to practice as a limited participant on Wednesday, which helps the game script. This game could end up with a lot of scoring. I love this stack in GPPs.

J.J. McCarthy - NYG QB ($4,800 DraftKings, $6,700 FanDuel)/Malik Nabers - NYG WR ($6,800 DraftKings, $7,900 FanDuel)

On to the Giants, where I like a stack of J.J. McCarthy and Malik Nabers. Jameis Winston struggled in Week 6, going 14/26 for 152 yards with 2 interceptions before getting benched. McCarthy came in and went 11/21 for 243 yards, a touchdown, and an interception in the fourth quarter. Nabers is the preferred stack option. He caught 12 of 15 targets for 165 yards last week, which is his third straight game over 100 yards, and he's seen 35 targets over the last two games (insane). With Jaxson Dart out for the year, McCarthy is more mobile than Winston, which is a nice boost to his floor. This stack is super enticing.

Bijan Robinson - ATL RB ($8,500 DraftKings, $9,400 FanDuel)

Next, I like taking a shot on Bijan Robinson. Bijan has been one of the most productive backs in the NFL, going over 100 scrimmage yards in four of the first five games, including a 29-carry, 194-yard, 2-touchdown performance in Week 3.

Week 6 was a different story. He had just 9 carries for 61 yards and 2 catches for negative 8 yards as the Falcons chased points against the Bears. People don't seem to be clicking him after the letdown, and I'm happy to take advantage of that. He still had a 20.5% target share and 24 touches in his game before that, so nothing about his role has changed. He is as comparable as we can get to Jahmyr Gibbs, but we are getting a massive discount on him. I love the ceiling he holds at a reasonable salary.

Josh Jacobs - GB RB ($6,300 DraftKings)

Lastly, I'm going to take a shot on Josh Jacobs. He missed the first six games of the season while on the Commissioner's Exempt List, but he has been removed from the list and was back at practice this week. He is expected to make his season debut against the Lions, though Matt LaFleur did say his status was to be determined, so keep an eye on the news as we get closer to lock. The Packers have been running a committee of MarShawn Lloyd, Kaleb Johnson, Chris Brooks, and Pierre Strong without him, and they rank last in the league in rushing.

There is some risk that Green Bay eases him in with limited carries, and the NFL's investigation is still open, so MAKE SURE he's active. I like taking a chance on him being the star RB we know of him being, if he's active.
