Pass Catchers Matthew Berry Loves In Week 7

A.J. Brown @ CHI (WR10)
DeVonta Smith vs. DAL (WR11)
Matthew Golden @ DET (WR12)
Tucker Kraft @ DET (TE6)

Berry’s two big themes here: the Bears are a good place to find yardage, and the Lions’ defense has been a gift to opposing pass catchers all season. Brown is back in a real role, Smith is seeing elite volume, and Golden and Kraft both get a Detroit defense that’s been a fantasy buffet.

Others receiving votes: Zay Flowers vs. CIN (WR14), Germie Bernard @ NO (WR24), Denzel Boston @ TEN (WR29), Omar Cooper vs. MIA (WR35), Tyler Higbee @ LV (TE14). Berry’s got usage and matchups lined up for all five.

Pass Catchers Matthew Berry Hates In Week 7

Rome Odunze vs. NE (WR32)
Josh Downs @ MIN (WR41)
Travis Kelce @ SEA (TE9)

Berry’s fading these three because of a mix of nasty matchups and roles that aren’t where you’d want them. Odunze and Kelce both run into defenses that make life miserable, and Downs is dealing with a target-share problem on a low-scoring offense.

Running Backs Matthew Berry Loves In Week 7

Some backfield news first:

Saquon Barkley is “in line” to play against Dallas on Monday night (Berry Rank: RB15), and he’s been very efficient in the two full games he’s played this season. Dallas has been one of the best fantasy matchups for running backs.

The Broncos designated Jonah Coleman to return from injured reserve. He had 13 touches for 58 yards and a touchdown in Week 2 before an ankle injury ended his run, and J.K. Dobbins (3.3 YPC) and Harvey (3.9 YPC) haven’t exactly been lighting it up.

Jaylen Warren @ NO (RB9)
Chuba Hubbard vs. TB (RB10)
Bucky Irving @ CAR (RB12)

Berry likes all three of these backs for the same reason: big workloads in matchups that should be friendly. Warren and Irving both get defenses that have been carved up by running backs, and Hubbard has been about as consistent as it gets.

Others receiving votes: Braelon Allen vs. MIA (RB16), Woody Marks vs. NYG (RB17), Aaron Jones vs. IND (RB20), Blake Corum @ LV (RB29). Berry’s got volume or matchup juice for all four.

Running Backs Matthew Berry Hates In Week 7

Josh Jacobs @ DET (RB18)
Cam Skattebo @ HOU (RB37)
Emanuel Wilson vs. KC (RB35)

Berry’s steering clear of all three. Jacobs has a workload question after a long layoff, Skattebo is in a brutal spot, and Wilson has a role that could get squeezed with a teammate coming back.

Quarterbacks Matthew Berry Loves In Week 7

Jordan Love @ DET (QB3)
Jared Goff vs. GB (QB5)
C.J. Stroud vs. NYG (QB8)

Berry’s loading up on quarterbacks in spots where the points should come easy. The Packers-Lions game is the headliner, and Stroud has been quietly steady while getting a matchup that should keep it rolling.

Others receiving votes: Matthew Stafford @ LV (QB9), Kyler Murray vs. IND (QB12), Aaron Rodgers @ NO (QB13). All three have defenses on the other side that have been leaking against the pass.

Quarterbacks Matthew Berry Hates In Week 7

Patrick Mahomes @ SEA (QB15)
Tyler Shough vs. PIT (QB16)

Berry’s staying away from both. Mahomes runs into the toughest pass defense in football, and Shough faces a Steelers defense that’s been stingy, even if his offensive line gives him some hope.
